Ventura County Plans to Balance Future with Service Cuts

On July 27, Ventura County presented their proposal to SEIU 721's bargaining team. The County rejected our proposals to increase productivity, improve public services and working conditions and instead focused on takeaways and furloughs.
Regardless of the County's first proposal, Ventura bargaining team members see this economic crisis facing our state, as an opportunity to make the County work better. Workers are committed to using these negotiations to streamline services and reduce inefficiencies as well as offer solutions for better countywide communications especially with implementing policies.
"During these economic times, we the County of Ventura family
must work diligently as one union to keep what we have and worked so
hard to attain in order to provide quality public services."
Arnulfo "AC" Carbajal, Supervising Environmental Health Specialist and Bargaining Team Member
