SEIU 721 members in Simi Valley continue to propose alternatives to the address a temporary shortfall while not impacting services or the workers who serve the City.
At the June 21 City Council meeting, Simi Valley council members passed the 2010-2011 budget was passed without any service cuts in the form of layoffs. Negotiations started in May.
At the meeting, councilmembers and management announced that they have agreed to a 3 percent reduction in compensation. City management also continues to propose permanent harmful cuts.
