SEIU 721 Contracts

A contract is a legal document that spells out the collective bargaining agreement between your union and the employer. A contract is also referred to as a Memorandum of Understanding or MOU.

You can find your contract by selecting the region in which you are employed. Then, look in the list by employer or by occupation. Most likely, you'll be grouped into the same contract with other classifications so if you have trouble finding the right one, call the Member Action Center at (877) 721-4968 or leave us a comment!

I just recentlyl retired from the County....I was a steward since 1986. When I went to Lacera to retire and get my paperwork in order....there was a big mess with my medical insurance. I'm in Kaiser and I want to continue with Kaiser
because of the extensive medical care I've been receiving from 4 different doctors. I just found out, that Kaiser through Lacera cancelled the option for Durable Medical Equipment approx. 6 months ago. I do not qualify for Part A of Medicare only for part B, however that will not help me at all. Without A and B. I cannot get into Senior Advantage where I would be covered. Basic Kaiser which I'm in does not cover DME. Now I have to apply for Medical Cal and I'm appealing to Kaiser to their assistance program. Meanwhile when April comes and I'm not covered by Kaiser through the County, I l will have to pay for my oxygen that I use 24 hours a day, plus a bi-pap machine and another machine that I use to inhale medicine for my severe asthma. Why wasn't employees notified.....even Lacera had to investigatge this on my behalf.

Hi Ernesto,
This sounds like a serious issue and I'm sure we would need more details concerning your situation. Your best bet is to call the Member Resource Center and talk to a professional Member Resource Organizer about your case. You can reach them at 877-721-4968.

I work out station for L.A. County DPSS. I would like to know (ASAP) if there is a county policy or union contract policy that states I need to report to my supervisor when I arrive to the office in the morning and again when I leave the office. Then report myself again when I arrive to the district I'm working at and then report myself again for the fourth time when I leave the district I'm at? And do I have to sometimes report myself when I go on lunch and come back?

LA County management is still proofing/editing the contracts. Once they finish we can begin printing them and making them available online. I'm sure we'll post an article and send out an email to inform everyone.

When will the new contracts be available for viewing. The last comment in this regard is dated in January and we are closing March 2010.

@Carmen: you should call the Member Resource Center. They can help you know exactly how many hours you need to qualify for health insurance. Their number is 877-721-4968 and they're open Monday through Friday 7am to 7pm.

I work for parks and rec I need to know how many hours I need to qualify for my health insurance for Jan., Feb. and March. It used to be 249 hours in 3 months. I need to know asap if I need more hours than that.

Please, can you give me information when an employee who has senority with the Los Angeles County, DCFS for twenty years and wants to be promoted in the department. What are my rights. Where can I find this information in Memorandum of Understanding.

Thank You,
Angelina Trinidad

From what I understand, the contracts are still being proofed by our bargaining units. Once they have been approved by the County and Local 721, then we can start distributing the contracts.

I wanted to review the new contract (2009) however, you still have the old ones up. How can I obtain the most current MOU?
