As one of the largest employers in the region, Los Angeles International Airport should be an engine of good jobs for the local economy. Instead, the 1% at LAX are hurting airport workers and driving down standards for all workers in our communities.
SEIU 721 members joined community groups in Downtown Los Angeles on Tax Day to stand up for the 99% and tell the 1% it's time that they pay their fair share. Members played Dodgeball with the 1% and collected signatures for the Governor's New Revenue Plan, which will increase state revenue by $8 billion a year and guarantee funding for public services.
Tuesday, April 17th is tax day for the 99%. But for the 1% - corporate tax dodgers like Wells Fargo or General Electric and millionaires like Mitt Romney - it's never tax day.
We can't afford more cuts to our education, health and public services. It's time for the 1% to pay their fair share.
Join SEIU 721 and Good Jobs LA for a Day of Action for the 99%.
