Fresh New Ideas to Benefit Everyone

Contest Submissions Roll In

In record numbers SEIU 721 members submitted their ideas to improve public services. As a part of both a statewide and national contest of SEIU members and other public service providers, dozens of Southern California workers participated in “Everybody Wins,” proposing fresh new ideas that can benefit the public, help our employers and improve our jobs.

Ideas ranged from the “green” – change incandescent bulbs at public buildings to energy saving compact fluorescents, reduce paper used by increasing documents available electronically, allow residents more access to statements and forms online – to suggestions on how to save residents’ time, how to recruit qualified county and city employees more effectively, the addition of practical language classes, ways to better recognize quality public service and even new software to streamline the delivery of health care and social services.

A taste of the fresh ideas. Read the complete list here.
