Social Workers: Committed to Our Jobs

“Any misuse of gifts or anything else intended for our clients is indefensible.”
Social workers throughout the county are united together for the futures of the children and other clients they care for.
While negotiations continue with county management in order to find solutions to extreme work levels that often include keeping track of the cases of more than 35 children, social workers are also reeling from the misuse of gifts intended for clients by management and some staff.

David-Green.jpg “We take our roles as social workers very seriously,” said David Green, an adoptions social worker. “We are pouring our heart and souls into finding a creative solutions to extreme workloads so that we can spend more time with the children we serve. It’s unfortunate that the indefensible behavior of a few should tarnish the work of many.

Every day we are working to reunite thousands of children with their families and adoptive families – bad behavior of a few does not change this nor should it cloud the public’s view of the Department especially as we get close to the holiday season when foster children need the love and support of Los Angeles residents.”

Social workers will continue to meet with county management and members of the Board of Supervisors to find solutions to best serve the children and families of L.A..
