Budget Cuts Threaten You at Work and at Home

Don’t let budget problems become a one-two punch. You can do something about it. Learn how!

As public service workers we could be hit both on the job – hiring freezes, lay offs, fewer resources – and at home – schools, roads, emergency rooms, elder care. Finding a solution that works for working families is going to take constant work from all over the state.

As more of us are getting ready to retire, services are more expensive and as we retire we use more services – health care, home care, pension and social security. We have to have a balanced approach that protects services for retirees and schools for our kids and grandkids.

It’s time to make the tough decisions because real people, like us, will be hurt if we stick to cuts alone.

The Worst State Budget
Cuts In Years Could:

Deny kids proper classroom education
Slash social services funds
Reduce access to health care and homecare
Put prisoners back on the street
Close parks, courts and probation camps
Jeopardize emergency services like ambulances, emergency rooms, trauma centers, burn units
