LA County Family Services Members Beat Parking Crunch

Beverly-Warren-and-Claudia-Mosley-Brown_LA-County_240x180.jpgWhen tight parking at the Department of Children and Family Services office at Shatto reached a crescendo, Beverly Warren and Claudia Mosley-Brown decided to do something about it. “We did it! People were parking on the streets, getting tickets and not happy about it. So we took action to change the situation and we won!” — Beverly Warren (right) Departmental Personnel Assistant (DPA ) and Union Steward You know the feeling… cruising into work, trying to be on time and then NO parking.
Beverly Warren and Claudia Mosley-Brown stepped up to fix the problem. They circulated a petition, met with management, filed a grievance and successfully acquired 83 spots additional spots for Shatto Place administrative staff. Clerical and support staff now have priority for parking ahead of administration officials from other buildings.
Lot 68 — just a few buildings down Shatto — is once again available for Headquarters staff. Sign up for a space now so you can breathe easy when you arrive at work and when you leave to pick up the kids or get to an appointment.
Hurry. You need to reserve your spot in Lot 68 now. For more information, contact David Green at (213) 448-3131.
