Survey of LA County Library Aides & Pages on Budget Emergency

SEIU 721 was informed by management that 150 Library Aides and Pages will be released for budgetary reasons in August 2009. SEIU 721 staff and leaders believe that the jobs of Library Aides and Pages can be saved with the Obama Administration’s Economic Recovery Funds and through your involvement we can convince the County to do so. Take the survey! A number of grants may be used for the purpose of saving library jobs and to fulfill the President’s goal to “preserve and create jobs.” While it is true that not all Library Aide and Pages’ salaries can be covered by federal funds, the more staff that can be, the more jobs can be saved. SEIU 721 is seeking your cooperation in completing a confidential survey. Please return all surveys by July 24, 2009. The survey is voluntary and is designed to match employees with federal grant funds whenever possible. Please direct all questions regarding the survey to Sergio Barahona at 323-308-8805 or Sergio.barahona@seiu721.org Thank you for your participation. Take the survey!
