Requirements:
- Must be a Steward/Leader with the Union for 2 or more years
- Must contribute a minimum of $10 to COPE
- Must earn an certificate in Labor Studies
To be fully reimbursed you must complete the following forms:
- Local 721 Check Request
- Copy of transcripts upon completion w/ a passing grade
- Proof of payment to LA Trade Tech
Reimbursement Requirements:
- The member must hold a permanent position with: Los Angeles County; LA and OC cities; Riverside County or City; North County or City; Tri-County or City
- The employee must have successfully passes their initial six (6) months probations period before reimbursement can be processed.
- The member must receive a passing grade of “C” or better.
- Reimbursement claim forms will not be processed it they are submitted later than three (3) months from the course completion date.
- Upon completion of the course(s) approved for reimbursements, the member must complete the claim form and attach the following documents:
- Proof of payments (i.e., receipt of tuition payments, front and back of check showing payments to the school, load disbursements, or other payment document).
- Grade report showing a “C” or better for each course on the claim form.
- Reimbursement will not be made for books, supplies, or other incidental cost.
- Reimbursement will not be made for student activity fees and other special student assessments.
- If the member is a veteran they are not eligible for tuition reimbursement from the Union until he/she exhausts their eligibility for tuition reimbursement from the federal government and the State of California.
- Those members who are participation in wither the Workforce Development Program or the Employee Incentive Program will not be eligible to receive tuition reimbursement simultaneously
- Members who do not meet all of the above requirements will have their claim denied.
