Social workers in the General Relief/SSI program help people with disabilities qualify for Social Security. That improves outcomes for clients and saves money for LA County.

Nick Ipollito from Supervisor Knabe’s office and Louisa Ollague from Supervisor Molina’s office participated in the SEIU 721 Walk a Day in Our Shoes program. They saw up close what a proposal to contract out services would mean to clients when they spent a morning with GR/SSI social workers on January 27.
