Take the Union Pride LGBTQ+ Survey

In case you missed it, the United States Supreme Court affirmed on Pride Month that an employer cannot fire a person because of their sexual orientation or gender identity!

The 6-3 decision in the Bostock v. Clay County case represents a landmark victory for all LGBTQ+ identified workers in the United States, and in particular for every worker who isn’t out of the closet in the workplace. In fact, a recent report by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation found that nearly 50% LGBTQ+ Americans are in the closet at work because they fear discrimination.

Through this landmark the decision and the work of the labor movement — know that we will continue to fight for more inclusive workplaces. If you identify as LGBTQ+ or have a loved one that is, you have a home at SEIU Local 721.

We encourage you to take the SEIU 721 Lavender LGBTQ+ Caucus’ Union Pride Survey and get involved.

The SEIU 721 Lavender LGBTQ+ Caucus works to improve the lives of our lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer union members, and increase the visibility of our community through education and outreach.

Please take this survey to help the Caucus broaden the work with allies and loved ones and follow them on Facebook.
