LAWA Workers Can Get Vaccinated!

The LA County Public Health Department has opened up eligibility for COVID-19 vaccinations to all individuals in Phase 1B, Tier 1. Per the County’s guidelines, this includes the category of Public Transit Workers, which includes airport workers, as part of the Emergency Services Sector.

To schedule a vaccination or to learn more about the COVID-19 vaccine, visit the LA County Public Health’s website here: http://publichealth.lacounty.gov/acd/ncorona2019/covidvaccinedistribution/

You will need your LAWA badge or a paystub as proof of your eligibility status. Do not forget to take your badge with you to your appointment.

There are three brands of the vaccine (Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, and Pfizer). In large studies that involved a diverse mix of people, all three vaccines were shown to be safe and effective at preventing COVID-19 and related severe illness and death. In addition, there is early data showing that the vaccines may help keep people from spreading the virus. You can learn more about the benefits of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s website.

City employees may receive their vaccination during work hours, but should coordinate scheduling with their supervisor.

Again, you can sign up to get vaccinated here.

Vaccination is a key step to protecting our health of our family, friends, neighbors and coworkers.
