LA County Members All in to Win!

SEIU 721 LA County members met on Saturday, July 14, to learn about the Tentative Agreement (TA) that fully covers health premium increases for the vast majority of members and protects pensions. Member leaders will be educating co-workers about the TA through Conference Room Events from July to August leading up to the ratification vote.
With the BPC’s top priority of defending benefits achieved, members are focusing their attention on securing revenue for future raises by working to pass Prop. 30 and defeat Prop. 32.
By voting YES on Prop 30, millionaires will have to pay their fair share and California will raise $9 billion to prevent devastating cuts to local government, public schools, community colleges, social services and healthcare.
SEIU 721 President Bob Schoonover was joined by Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas to urge members to go all in to win for the 99% by defeating the special exemption ballot measure with a NO vote on Prop 32.


Prop 32 would silence the voice of working families. Make no mistake about it, if this measure passes, there will be nothing to stop them from going after collective bargaining and our pensions.

The meeting concluded with members committing to engage co-workers, family and the community in the fight to protect the middle-class through the Member-to-Member Plus program to win for the 99% in November.
