On April 4, 2016, working families across the Golden State celebrated the signing of Senate Bill 3, which established the first statewide pathway to a $15 minimum wage in the United States. This historic legislation will lift California’s working families out of poverty, and transform the lives of the 6.5 million working Californians who earn less than $15 an hour.
