What does the state budget problem mean for LA County?

It means hundreds of millions less and unknown devastating effects. With local declines in revenue the county already closed a $300-million hole by deleting budgeted, but vacant, positions and using funds from the federal American Reinvestment and Recovery Act. The Governor’s proposal would add another $300 million deficit, plus millions more from state-funded programs, and put us back to square one.
