Congress Takes Step Forward to Fix Health Care
Last week we joined more than 5,000 other SEIU members across the country to help convince Congress to pass health care change that will work for all Americans.
With our support they moved forward H.R. 3200, which guarantees that every American family will be protected from out-of-control costs, has what they need to keep them healthy, and adequate coverage for when they need it.
Opponents of reform tried to delay the bill, because they know that's the best way to kill health care reform. We have debated this for 60 years - every time politics and scare tactics have stood in the way. Not this time.
Members of Congress will be at home in their districts during the month of August, and those who are trying to kill healthcare reform will be putting a lot of pressure on our those members of Congress who support real reform.
One bill won't cure our health care woes, but it means we're finally taking steps, and taking a stand.
