This isn't the first time we've faced these issues. The last time was in 2005 when Governor Schwarzenegger launched an assault on our pensions and benefits.

Cathy Hackett was a key leader in the SEIU 1000 pension protection campaign that stopped the Governor's attempt to wipe out our secure retirement.

Remember to Vote By Mail in September

We have the opportunity this September to elect two qualified candidates to the CalPERS Board of Administration. 

Cathy Hackett is running for Position A at-large member.  

There will also be an election for the Position B at-large member.  Cathy has endorsed Kurato Shimado for that position.

Ballots will be mailed to the homes of more than 1.3 million eligible CalPERS members starting on September 4, 2009.  Ballots should arrive during the week of September 7.

On the Position A ballot Cathy Hackett is in position five (5). You vote by filling in the circle to the right of her name with a black or blue pen.

CalPERS supplies a prepaid return envelope. Place both ballots in the envelope and return the ballot immediately.

Once you have voted please remember to continue working to protect your pension by reminding your co-workers that they need to return their ballots for Cathy Hackett.
