Ventura Members Endorse Candidates that Value Public Services

SEIU 721 Members from the City of Ventura voted to endorse incumbents Brian Brennan, Jim Monahan, and Ed Summers for City Council in the upcoming November 3rd elections.  SEIU 721 members chose these incumbents because they have been instrumental in helping save jobs and services members provide.

VenturaCityWorker_Streets200x220.jpgMembers also endorsed Measure A which will help provide needed resources for city roads, parks, emergency response teams, and will help save Wright Library. Measure A is a temporary half cent sales tax that that will sunset after four years.  This sales tax will generate more than $8 million in revenue and because it is a local sales tax, 100% of the revenue will stay in the City of Ventura to preserve valuable city services.

Members also endorsed Measures B and C.

SEIU members have been volunteering at Measure A phone banks and precinct walks.  For more information go to the Measure A website

If you would like to volunteer for Measure A contact Jeannette Sanchez, Political Coordinator at: 805-340-0560.
