LA City Budget Decision Could Place Fire Department and City Services in Jeopardy

“Everything we do is to keep LA City firefighters able to do their job and fight destructive and dangerous fires,” said William Jackson, a heavy duty equipment mechanic.

In his latest report, Santana calls for:

• Additional furloughs for most of the city’s civilian employees
• More cuts to essential services
• Proposed layoffs

“We cannot take anymore service cuts,” said Animal Care Technician Jake Miller. “Our work is getting more and more dangerous. We need to keep our staff levels.”
