WE Care for Watts and WE did it!!

With an overwhelming YES vote of 98%, Watts Healthcare Corporation members have ratified a strong three-year contract that protects public safety, keeps healthcare contributions affordable, and provides market rate adjustments for several classifications.

  • 11.25% salary increases over the term of the contract
  • Healthcare Contributions:
    • No changes in health care contribution for the first year
    • 5% increase in year two
    • 8% increase in year three
  • Market Rate Adjustments that bring all workers to at least $15 per hour
  • Stronger job security & protections

Watts Bargaining Team members held steadfast and fought hard, refusing to accept management proposals that would have raised health care contributions by up to 275% while barely increasing wages by 2.5%.

Members in the field also stood strong and fought back! We let leadership know those proposals were unacceptable and sent them the message that we would do whatever it takes, with Watts members authorizing an Unfair Labor Practice strike with an impressive 99% yes vote. We also engaged community members and gained the support of patients, clergy members, and elected officials.

Our Watts community stood by us by Purpling Up alongside workers and joining in on several actions and unity breaks.

In light of the recent Supreme Court decision, victories like these are more proof of exactly why America Needs Unions! By staying strong and united we exercised our collective voice and negotiated an agreement we can all be proud of.

WE Are Watts and with this contract we will continue caring for our beloved community and be able to care for our families as well. Together we rise and together we win!
