CANCELLED – Armenian Independence Day celebration will not be held this year

Out of respect for the victims of the current escalation of hostilities taking place in Nagorno-Karabakh, we have decided to cancel this year’s Armenian Independence Day celebration. We are in a spirit of mourning for the hundreds of lives lost. The situation is still very serious and we are extremely concerned about the renewed tensions that continue to surface.

All of us at SEIU 721 stand in strong solidarity with our Armenian brothers and sisters during this tragic time. We respectfully call on the Biden Administration and the international community to do all they can to enforce the recently agreed upon ceasefire and to establish a lasting peace in the region. Hostilities simply cannot be allowed to escalate further, particularly given the very real history of genocide in Armenia.
