There are certain inequities that need to be addressed and I have been speaking with other WFM’s in my bargaining unit from Harbor as well as other work sites about what is important for everyone with regards to pay and benefits moving forward. I serve on the UPC and Labor committee at Harbor.

Hello, I am a Special Procedures Rad Tech in IR at LAC+USC. Our department performs procedures as part of the radiology, cardiology, neurosurgery, and vascular surgery teams. These procedures include traumas, strokes, STEMIs, etc. We are frontline staff. During the pandemic surges almost every procedure was a COVID case. Even now we are exposed practically everyday. We are a small but critical department. Being part of such a small group, our needs and concerns were never addressed in past contracts. As part of this bargaining committee, I will focus on the needs of under represented groups within the unit.

I am a PTA that has been with the county for over 20 years. I have experience working in different areas of rehabilitation. The PTA is a great licensed resource that is not regularly recognized as a important member of the team. I believe that PTA’s need a stronger voice throughout the county since we do so much to support PT’s plan of care but aren’t recognized with either work or financial promotions. That needs to change.
