As a
friend of mine keeps reminding me “It is not the strongest of the
species that survives, nor the most intelligent who will survive. It is
the one that is more adaptable to change.” Darwin. (Note: Today is the
200th anniversary of Darwin’s birth.) Perhaps there is more to it than
this but the saying is true in my opinion. We cannot just think that
things will remain the same because they will not. If we intend to see
changes we must adapt to the changing times and be involved with the
changes we want to see happen. Obama has opened the way to the change
but he cannot do it alone. We must help ever more so. To do this we
need to organize at each and every site so that we are strong and ready
to make the changes happen. One steward for one site is not enough. We
need an organizing committee at each site. If you don’t have one there,
then make one with the help of your union representative. Set up a
general meeting for everyone and talk about it together. Out time has
come!
