Riverside Workers Contribute to Day of Caring on Sept. 19

SEIU 721 workers will start the day by meeting at City Hall with City Councilman Andy Melendrez of Ward 2. Volunteers will then arrive at Fairmont Park in Riverside to restore rose gardens, plant trees, remove graffiti and repaint parking spaces. Participants will end the day with a special lunch at Riverside City Hall.  

More than 1,000 volunteers participated in the 2008 Day of Caring. A large turnout is expected this year.  Signup to volunteer by clicking here!

Who: The United Way hosts the 2009 Day of Caring.
What: SEIU 721 public workers to volunteer in community service event.

Itinerary

7 a.m. – Volunteers meet at Riverside City Hall, 3900 Main St., Riverside, CA 92522.  
8 a.m. to 11: 30 a.m. – Volunteers work at Fairmont Park, 2601 Fairmont Blvd., Riverside, CA 92501.    
11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Closing lunch at City Hall.
