“I am happy and proud of the efforts made by SEIU, IBEW and RPOA in pulling our resources together for the community.” – Enrique Barboza, RPU Field Service Assistant – Riverside City Chapter 2nd Vice President “It takes a community to pull together during these times. Partnering the City and SEIU we will make great things happen together,” area council member Paul Davis told those gathered. Riverside-area SEIU members joined volunteers from IBEW Local 47 and the Riverside Police Department, at an event sponsored by the SEIU Riverside City Chapter. The joint Holiday Barbecue Food and Toy Drive was open to all Riverside-area SEIU members. Kids played in bounce houses or created pine cone ornaments at the Girl Scout Troop table, while Stan Stosel, IBEW 47 and Walter “Sparky” White worked the grill and Riverside chapter president Frank Corral and Rudy Gonzalez, RCMC, sang a duet of Feliz Navidad in the background. Santa and McGruff the crime dog also greeted the families.
