Provides new stewards with an understanding of what their roles and responsibilities are as worksite leaders. Participants also review SEIU Local 721’s history and structure.
The goal of the Steward Development Program is to develop Union Stewards that are able to provide both basic and advanced levels of representation to the members. Union Stewards will develop their skills through handling informal meetings with Management, conducting pre-grievance preparation and post-grievance debrief, coaching through the Grievance process, preparing for Weingarten meetings and internal affairs interviews, and supporting members through Interactive Process Meetings.
This is an in-person training at the SEIU 721 office in Los Angeles at SEIU 721 office in Los Angeles. 5th Floor Training Room.
