Thanks to our solidarity, we’ve already secured movement at the bargaining table — including increased contributions to medical coverage. But instead of negotiating in good faith, County leadership continues to drag their feet, delay progress, and disrespect our union.


We’ve Let the World Know: We’re Going on a ULP Strike on April 28

Fed up with Los Angeles County management’s repeated law-breaking and failure to bargain in good faith, our union delivered an official 10-Day Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) Strike Notice to the County today and announced our intent to strike during a press conference directly outside our union’s headquarters near downtown LA.

LA County Members Hold Energetic ULP Strike Academy and Practice Picket

This past Saturday morning, LA County members of SEIU 721 showed up bright & early and in big numbers to attend a spirited ULP Strike Academy and Practice Picket. Our goal was to train, organize and prepare ourselves for the big contract fight ahead, with the rock solid understanding that we won’t back down until we get the strong contract that we deserve.

LA County members hardly needed convincing to fight the good fight. Energy was high right from the start and remained so throughout the entire event.



‘Yes’ Vote Wins – Union’s LA County Members Authorize ULP Strike

Today, our union announced the results of our LA County Unfair Labor Practice strike authorization vote. Members voted in favor of a ULP strike, with a resounding 98% voting YES. We broke the news to the media, and SEIU 721 members, this morning at a press conference at our Wilshire

After an historic strike garnering the support of California’s top three gubernatorial candidates, thousands of workers across Riverside County returned to work today wearing “Stronger Than Ever” stickers, and those working in Riverside’s especially dangerous flagship hospital walked back into work equipped with pepper spray.
