“I’m so fortunate we were able to go,” said Tanya Smith. “My son loves any chance he can get to interact with other kids that are facing similar challenges. It helps him feel normal.”
Event proceeds will go toward helping the American Diabetes Association fund essential advocacy, education and research initiatives such providing programs benefitting the more than 200,000 people living in the Inland Empire with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
Participating in the diabetes event is one of many community outreach initiatives that SEIU 721 members are involved in.
In Riverside County, SEIU 721 represents more than 6,000 public service workers including registered nurses, social workers, 9-1-1 dispatchers, among others who are committed to keeping families safe and healthy.
Great thing you all are doing! Keep it up!
