SEIU 721 members are proudly endorsing LA County Social Worker David Green for the LACERA Board of Investments, Deputy Probation Officer Yves Cheryfor the Board of Retirement and retired LA County Social Worker Doris Wallace Fletcher for 8th Member and Alternative Member for the Board of Retirement.
Meet the Candidates

David Green

David Green has a proven track record as a trusted advocate of workers.
He has advocated for his fellow  members as a steward, bargaining unit representative  and executive board member. David studied micro and macro economics, markets, investments and business law in college, and later earned his masters in social work from University of Southern California.
He has the knowledge and character to serve on the LACERA Board of Investments.  When Simon Russin, the long-time trustee on the Board of Investments, voted to lower LACERA’s assumed rate of return despite warnings from SEIU members and the county that it would force layoffs, furloughs and service cuts, we recognized the need for a change. David has the support of  members who urged him to run and be the change that LACERA needs. He will fight back against attacks to reduce or eliminate our retirement benefits. He will be a trustee county workers can trust.
Yves Chery
Yves Chery has the education, experience and dedication to serve on LACERA’s Board of Retirement. Yves attended fiduciary programs at Harvard, Stanford and UC-Berkeley. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Cal State – Northridge, a Master’s of Fine Arts from the California Institute of the Arts, and a Juris Doctor degree from the Southern California Institute of Law. Yves Chery was first elected to the Board of Retirement in 2005. He has been an outstanding trustee and a strong advocate for protecting our pensions and disability retirements. He was re-elected Secretary of the Board of Retirement by his colleagues and he is the chair of LACERA’s Operations and Oversight Committee. As a board member, Yves has never missed a meeting and diligently does his homework. He will continue to advocate for all LACERA members and will continue his work to improve LACERA’s outreach to members.
