American Red Cross Workers Unanimously Ratify New Contract

SEIU 721 members of the American Red Cross (ARC) voted unanimously to ratify a new contract with ARC management. The new contract maintains safe staffing levels at blood drives, guarantees affordable health insurance, and includes wage increases over 4 years.
This new 4-year contract comes after 19 months in which management fought tooth-and-nail to reduce staffing at blood drives, take away workers rights to affordable health care, and deny them a decent wage increase.

“The unity of all Red Cross workers — in this region and nationwide–is the reason we won this agreement.”

ARC workers are proud to finally come to an agreement with management that values workers providing essential services for our country’s blood supply and maintains staffing to keep donors and the blood supply safe.
After fighting 19 months for a fair contract, ARC workers are fired up and ready to continue building strength among Red Cross workers in other regions, SEIU 721 members and the community in the Fight For A Fair Economy.
