“I came out here with my daughter to join the march because it’s important to support our brothers and sisters in Ventura County who are undocumented and are working to gain a legal status.”
-Angelica Navarro,
SEIU 721 member, City of Oxnard Housing Department
Chants of “Congress, listen, the people are in the fight” (Congreso, escucha, la gente esta en la lucha) during the march urged Congress members to support comprehensive immigration reform. Those at the front of the march didn’t have to chant as loud since Congress member Julia Brownley was heading the parade along with United Farm Workers national President Arturo Rodriguez and California State Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson.
It is time for 11 million people to come out of the shadows.
This is a 6-second video of the marching crowd.
