Superior Court Workers Get Ready for Action

On March 22, Superior Court Workers held a general membership meeting to focus on statewide court funding issues and the LA County Superior Court’s reconstruction plan.

Members attended from LA County, Children’s Law Center, Ventura and Riverside.Featured speakers included State Assemblyman Reggie Jones-Sawyer, SEIU California Director of Government Relations Michelle Castro and former State Senator Charles Calderon.

The speakers applauded the efforts of SEIU members to win more money for courts and encourage accountability and transparency from management. They discussed the importance of the recently-announced AOC Audit, launched by Assemblyman Jones-Sawyer.

Court employees participated in a lively question and answer session and then signed up to travel to Sacramento for budget lobbying trips.
