October 28 ULP Work Stoppage: Let LA City Know it’s Time to Fix LA!

July 1 Action 123.JPGLA City management has engaged in unfair labor practices by attempting to dissuade members from participating in protected activities and silence workers who are determined to stand up and Fix LA!

Los Angeles City workers are gearing up for a ULP Work Stoppage day of action on Tuesday October 28.

Our City of Angels is out of balance. LA City funnels almost $300 million a year to Wall Street in fees alone–all while vital city services and jobs are being eliminated or reduced to part-time with no benefits.

While Wall Street treats our city like an ATM, LA leaders are trying to slash your pay and make you pay $1,690 a year or more for your health insurance.  LA City workers won’t stand for it! We are committed to building a City that works for everyone. We are pushing our elected leaders to stand up to the very Wall Street bankers who crashed our economy in 2008 and make them pay their fair share like the rest of us.

Let the City know that instead of intimidating its workers,  it’s time to put LA’s needs ahead of Wall Street greed! We CAN build a world-class city with a living wage for all, good full-time middle-class jobs, and thriving neighborhoods with the vital services that keep our city safe, clean, and functioning.

It’s time to stand up to the scare tactics and let the City know it’s time to Fix LA!
