Following reports of physical attacks on Riverside County Hemet Clinic care providers and bricks being thrown through windows, SEIU Local 721 hosted a “We Must Protect Ourselves” self-defense course (WATCH VIDEO) for all Riverside County Hemet Clinic care professionals on January 18th.
The self-defense course comes on the heels of a Safety Check worksite action held in late December, and the filing of an official group grievance against Riverside County demanding the county implement proper safety measures.
The Hemet Clinic workers know all too well that every day the County drags its feet on putting in place real safety protections, is another day the Hemet Clinic staff run the risk of being violently attacked or being killed.
They’re refusing to be victims and banded together to learn self-defense to defend and protect themselves!
