Another Win for SEIU 721 County of Ventura Members!

When our SEIU 721 County of Ventura bargaining team formulated our last bargaining proposals in the 2019 campaign, we knew that ever-changing health care costs would be a challenge.

Our team’s strategy was to try and cover the increases by having flex credit contributions increase over time.

December 12, 2021, your flex credit contributions will be increasing again. Our contract is still at work!

As a reminder, your flex credit works like health insurance cafeteria contributions so that you use these contributions to pay premiums in medical, dental and vision insurance for you and your families.

New negotiated increases are as follows:

  • Tier I Employee only will get an additional $25.00 per pay period for a total of $497.00 per pay period.
  • Tier II Employee + 1 will get an additional $50.00 per pay period for a total of $622.00 per pay period.
  • Tier III Employee + family will get an additional $95.00 per pay period for a total of $737.00 per pay period.

The new premium rates for all health plans offered to all employees/members were recently adopted by the Board of Supervisors that REDUCE or minimally increase premiums for all plans offered – VCHCP HMO, Blue Shield Access + HMO, Blue Shield Trio HMO and Blue Shield HDHP PPO.

Dental plan rates are guaranteed through 12/31/2022 with NO increases. Vision plan rates are guaranteed through 12/31/24 and, also, NO increases.

With the soon to be added negotiated increases, all represented members will see no additional out of pocket increases for 2022 and all will see savings back in their paychecks.

Keep in mind, these increases are on top of the negotiated 2% general salary increase for all that is effective on December 26, 2021.

When we work together and members get involved in their contract campaign, great things happen. We will be preparing for the next contract campaign in the first quarter of 2022.
