As you know, Correctional Health Services within the LA County Department of Health Services has implemented a One-Time 20% Bonus to only SOME of our jail employees.
Our union, SEIU 721, surveyed CHS jail employees. We said that this One-Time 20% Bonus to only SOME of our jail employees DOES NOT address the problems of recruitment or retention – and, above all, safety – in our workplace.
Our CHS & LASD co-workers are in official negotiations. We, as SEIU 721, gave CHS a strong union counter proposal: Raise EVERYONE’S salary by 20% PERMANENTLY.
