We have escalated our fight to the LA County Board of Supervisors!
On Mon., June 26, SEIU 721 members from Correctional Health Services showed up to the Board of Supervisors’ budget hearing, representing all four of the main jail sites – MCJ, TT, CRDF and Pitchess!
Nurse Practitioners, RNs, Dental Assistants, Inmate Crew Leaders and others spoke to the numerous health and safety issues in the jails and the need to pay the 20% bonus to ALL! The bonus is vital – yet we’ve never lost sight of the fact that our greater campaign is always to deliver the quality healthcare that all LA County inmates deserve.
We also made sure to leave behind three massive petitions filled with signatures from CHS-LASD co-workers who know what’s up.
Our next bargaining session with LA County management is on Wed., July 5. Join us for our union’s next Contract Action Team meeting for all of us at CHS-LASD!
