LMU NTT Bargaining Session 4 Updates

Unit Member,

Last Friday we had our fourth bargaining session with LMU.  We presented our first compensation article – THE BIG ONE – SALARY!!

We presented a base salary to get our members up from poverty wages, and then we built off that for all who have degrees, years of experience in teaching, years of experience in their field, top 20 schools in their field, etc. The grid gives us quite a large salary bump, but it’s our first offer, don’t forget.

For Part Timers we’re looking to double most of what you make per class as a base, and the same bumps apply as the full time grid.  If you want to know more, check out our Slack page for all the details!

We proposed that part-time staff be compensated in equal proportions per unit/class as full-time NTT staff. If you want to know more, check out our Slack page for all the details!

The Bargaining Action Team will meet again a week from Sunday (end of our Spring Break, ugh) to finalize the remainder of our compensation articles, which will complete our contract proposal.  We still have benefits, retirement plans, and parking to name a few.

NOW IS THE TIME TO GET MORE INVOLVED!!  There are small things you can do to ensure that we all win a strong contract.. Please RSVP for an upcoming meeting here and we’ll get you the details.

And join our Slack channel. JOIN here!

Here are a few ways to get involved!:

  • A community petition in support of our campaign is coming soon – SIGN in support and help circulate it!
  • Consider joining our Contract Action Team (CAT)- we need your help to get the best possible contract!! JOIN Here!

Have a great Spring Break and Go Union!✊
Best, Your Bargaining Action Team
