The Other Side of Decertification
We’re a small group of social workers and other mental health professionals at Kaiser Permanente in Southern California. We voted out SEIU for a small, untested union called NUHW. Nearly three years later, we still don’t have a contract and face major cuts to our healthcare, job security and retirement.
We hear that another untested group with no experience bargaining contracts called “LACFSU” wants LA County Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) social workers and supervisors to make that same mistake.
This is our a warning to you: Don’t Decertify and Lose Your SEIU Contract. Don’t Sign Anything for LACFSU.
