County of Ventura Bargaining Update #3 – September 19

On the heels of our successful action at the Ventura County Board of Supervisors where more than 200 members showed up and presented over 2,100 Living Wage Petition signatures, we had some progress in bargaining.

We had our third bargaining session on Wednesday, September 17th and here are some notes on the session:

-We did not receive an economic proposal from the County on either general salary increases or on healthcare

-We submitted a proposal on market equity adjustments (MEA) based on the presentations members submitted through the MEA process

-We were able to TA on two proposals: one improves grievance process procedures and the other clarifies the employee incentive program language

-We submitted proposals on overtime for water and wastewater workers and had some movement at the table.

Our next bargaining session will be on Wednesday, September 24th.

Our next CAT meeting will be Thursday, September 25th so keep an eye out for details on that meeting so you can attend and then share the bargaining updates with your coworkers.

>>RSVP for the September 25th CAT meeting.

ACTION AT THE VENTURA COUNTY BOS – VIDEO

We delivered over 2,100 Living Wage Petition signatures and had public comments from chairs of our different bargaining table groups. Our message was clear – members should be able to afford to live where we work!
