SEIU Endorsed Candidate Deanna McCormick Wins Re-election to VCERA Pension Board

SEIU Local 721 members endorsed county worker Deanna McCormick won her bid to be re-elected to the Ventura County Employees’ Retirement Association (VCERA).

McCormick won by a landslide with 80% of the votes. County of Ventura and Ventura Regional Sanitation District SEIU 721 members are part of the VCERA retirement system and they voted her in. The election results were certified shortly after the vote count on Dec. 3.

This is Deanna’s second terms on the VCERA board and she is still committed to serving retirees and their retirement security. Deanna is an RN at the Ventura County Medical Center.

Deanna was endorsed by the Ventura County Coalition of Unions which includes SEIU Local 721, California Nurses Association, Ventura County Sheriff Deputy’s Association, Ventura County Professional Firefighters Association, International Union of Operating Engineers Local 501, Specialized Peace Officers Association of Ventura County, Ventura County Professional Peace Officers Association and other labor groups.

  1. I know both candidates that ran. It’s a shame that the union rumber stamped this one for Deanna, because she is a great nurse. But let’s face it, the better candidate DID NOT win. I hope to see more come from her challenger in the future. He has certainly been a force for the unions outside of SEIU at the government center.
