Time for Leadership
The City of Inglewood is facing a $13.5 million dollar deficit. The city is currently without a Mayor, a City Administrator and an HR Director.
Members present at the June 10 meeting discussed how city workers can provide continuity and leadership to see our through these tough times.

I encourage you to keep your heads up and let’s ride this wave together. Unity is strength! We are strong in numbers, but even more so in our commitment to the city, it’s leaders, and the residents.”

Next steps discussed for tackling the budget crisis:
- Council delegations: groups of workers meeting with City Council members to speak up for the services that we provide.
- Meetings with city officials to get more information about the budget crisis and make sure our voice is heard.
- Providing our ideas or savings and efficiency.
- Working to choose a new Mayor in the August election who will partner with city workers to improve our city.
Preparing to Win a Fair Contract
Starting in July we’ll be negotiating a new contract. In preparation we’ll:
- Elect a Bargaining Team
- Assemble a Contract Action Team to support the bargaining team
- Survey members for their bargaining priorities
