Inglewood City Members Elect a New Bargaining Team

Inglewood City workers have elected a new bargaining team packed with new faces and new energy for negotiations set to begin Monday, July 12, 2010.
Members held a Unity Breakfast that morning at 7 am to let the team know we’re behind their efforts to bargain a fair contract, in the face of a $13.5 million budget deficit, that will support city workers in the delivery of quality services for Inglewood residents.

“As a 20 year City employee I am humbled my colleagues who nominated and elected me to be on the Bargaining Team. This is an important time in our City. While this is serious, I am comfortable with our team to make the best decision for our members and share information. Unity is important. I feel our job is to help protect employees, especially the short timers, and save as many jobs as possible while facing this economic crisis and preserving quality services for Inglewood residents.” – Joe Greenwood, Building Inspector and Bargaining Team member
Members Gudelia Valdovinos, Selma Salausa, Georgia Smith, and Mark Conley volunteered their time to work the voting table and count the ballots. City Clerk Yvonne Horton oversaw the ballot count and certified the results.
