Non-tenure track (NTT) faculty in three Loyola Marymount University (LMU) colleges started historic union contract negotiations on Dec. 20, 2024.
The nearly 400 faculty members serve in the Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts (BCLA), the College of Communication and Fine Arts (CFA), and the School of Film and Television (SFTV), and teach courses in various fields, including animation, communications, dance, English, ethnic studies, film, history, music, philosophy, political science, screenwriting, theology, theatre arts, urban studies,
and many more.
The faculty members—who voted overwhelmingly to join SEIU 721 in the summer of 2024—say they aim to win more substantial pay, benefits, job security, and worker protections in their first union contract.
SEIU 721 members will support them all the way.
