Elimination of CaIWORKs. The May Revision proposal would eliminate the CalWorks program for an estimated State General Fund savings of $1.3 billon in FY 2009-10 and $1.8 billon in FY 2010-11. The Department of Public Social Services estimates that up to 3,761 direct services positions would be eliminated.
