Were you there?

Hundreds of union members packed Moreno Valley Conference Center Oct. 26 and pledged to shape the future of public services in Riverside together.

A secure retirement was on everyone’s minds as the media and politicians blame public employees, not Wall Street corporations, for fiscal problems in California, the county and cities in Riverside.

  1. I have been active and listening to all that goes on with regards to contract negotiations, issues, the union, the county etc. I sit back and some times wonder if we are just puppets on a string battleing for what we are made to believe is in danger when all along we should be battling to remove the very thing that is pulling our strings…. the governing body of Riverside County which would include Human Resources. I recently heard it said that Riverside Human Resources isn’t even doing what they are hired or designed to do instead of what they are actually doing to the Riverside County workforce. Why do we submit ourselves to the manipulation and grief? United we could start fresh with those that are willing to do their true job and unite with the workers of this county for a better tomorrow living in harmony. When you pull a weed that is killing or invading a good plant and you only pull the top, the weed will come back in full force. Remove it by the root and it will never come back! Which weed are we truly fighting in negotiations?
