LA County Contract 2012 Membership Meeting

The union’s Bargaining Policy Committee (BPC) is made up of the chairs of the 24 elected bargaining committees.  The consensus view of the BPC is that we should focus our bargaining in 2012 on protecting our benefits. We will recommit our members to fight to get the wealthy and large corporations to pay their fair share of taxes in California, to improve the County’s financial condition.  We believe this strategy will put our members in the strongest position to bargain for future raises.

Linda Dent, SEIU 721 Vice President and Chair of the BPC
We know that once again it will be a tough bargaining environment. Under the circumstances, it is important that SEIU Local 721 members unite behind a well-considered bargaining strategy.  Members are encouraged to complete the Bargaining Survey (online version) and attend the membership meeting to vote on a unified plan for contract negotiations.
