Our Voice and Our Resistance at the Oxnard Citizenship Fair

Supporting the Oxnard Citizenship Fair

Led by SEIU 721 members, CAUSE, and other community groups, over 100 participants and volunteers filled the Oxnard Performing Arts Center for our July 30th Citizenship Fair.

Filling out N-400 formsDozens of legal permanent residents are now on a path to U.S. citizenship after filling out their N-400 forms with the help of SEIU 721 members and community volunteers. Families from across the region received free legal evaluations from immigration attorneys, passport photos for their applications, DACA renewals, and children’s passports.

Given the current administration’s divisive attacks on working families, it’s crucial that we gear up for our upcoming 2018 elections. We must use our voice to fight back against the tactics of fear and intimidation, and vote to elect candidates who will support working families.

With the success of our Citizenship Fair in Oxnard, dozens of legal permanent residents are on the path to citizenship, and one step closer to securing a voice – and a vote – in our democratic process.

SEIU 721 and community groups including CAUSE and MICOP are scheduling two more Citizenship Fairs in Ventura County in October and in December.
