It was our hard work and unity that urged the City of Los Angeles to create the Targeted Local Hire Program, another key victory in our figh to Fix LA and lift up all of Los Angeles’ working families.
The Targeted Local Hire Program seeks to connect LA city residents to employment opportunities, including those who may face barriers to employment. The Program builds alternative pathways for underserved and underemployed populations, leading to rewarding Civil Service careers with the City of Los Angeles.
Candidates will receive on-the-job training and complete an assessment period before transitioning to civil service employment.
Initial hire is to a Vocational Worker or Office Trainee position, which offers:
- Full-time employment
- At least $15.00 an hour
- Benefits (health, retirement, and commute options)
- On the job training & development
Applicants need:
- Interest in one of the City career pathways listed
- Legal right to work
- Additional requirements may apply
